SUPER-COOL-ULTRA-P.I.M.P BOOK REPORT :)
Killers of the Dawn
Darren Shan
ME: Will you still carry on with your quest to kill the Vampaneze Lord now that your best friend and mentor, whom you’ve known for about 18 years, is dead?
DARREN: As a half-vampire I have more guts than most humans so I will avenge Mr. Crepsley’s death but first I will go back to civilisation for some time to recover from the incident. The hunt will be harder but I will still try and kill Steve Leopard.
ME: How long do you think it will take to recover and carry on with the hunt?
DARREN: Who knows? Maybe a few months or maybe a few years.
ME: Do you do think its going to be any easier now you know that you know that the vampeneze lord is your old best friend- Steve Leopard?
DAREN: Perhaps. Now we know who we’re looking for but then now Steve Leopard’s cover is blown he’s going to be a lot less careless.
ME: You mentioned the hunt will be harder. Do you mean emotionally or will you and Vancha March suffer from not having Mr. Creplsley to fight by your side?
Darren: We will suffer from both of the above but more so of the fact that he will not be there at the end-game.
ME: Where will you be heading next?
DARREN: I will be going back to the Cirque Du Freak for some time to recover.
ME: Will you stick with Harkat Mulds to help him find his true self before he was resurrected as a “Little Person”?
DARREN: Of course! I wouldn’t abandon Harkat if my life depended on it!
ME: If you had to chose which one you could go on with the hunt?
DARREN: WHO DO YOU THINK I AM!?!? IM NOT GOING TO ANSWER THAT!!!
ME: Ok, sorry- I didn’t mean to offend you. So far what do you think you have a chance against Steve and his minions even without Mr. Crepsley?
DARREN: What do you think? Of course its gonna be harder!
ME: How old are you?
DARREN: In human years I would be about 30 but in vampire year’s I’m 17 so I still look like a child.
ME: Does your age really affect you combat-wise?
DARREN: It does affect me but not as much as you would think- for vampires, age doesn’t make that much difference.
ME: Does your appearance for your age affect you?
DARREN: Yes. This is the one reason why I regret becoming a vampire. Inside, I am much more mature than any 17 year old but of course no adult wants to hang around some teenager.
ME: Do you have a stationary base that you can call “home”?
DARREN: Its sort of ironic that you mentioned stationary. Our base is The Cirque Du Freak- a travelling circus.
ME: If you could choose would you be a vampire or a boy?
DARREN: I’d be a boy.
ME: Why would you rather be a boy?
DARREN: Everyone seems to think I’m some sort of hero that’s invincible and loves saving the world every couple of days. It’s not like that. I’d give anything just to be a normal 17 year old.
ME: Do you still miss your parents and long to go back to them?
DARREN: I still miss my parents but it would be cruel to go back to them after my “death” from falling out of a balcony.
ME: What do you think of the “Vampets”- the human minions that the vampeneze recruit?
DARREN: I think its sort of pathetic really. I mean, there’s now only three of us and there’s a lot more vampeneze, they still can’t kill us and they need to recruit humans to do their dirty work.
ME: This is a bit random but do you miss one of the main aspects of life- television?
DARREN: Funnily enough, I do!
ME: What would be your favourite television program then?
DARREN: One of my favourite shows is The Simpsons.
ME: Thank you so much for the interview- we really appreciate it.
